I just have to glue the headpiece to the headband..and then I am DONE. =)

I’m getting closer and closer to finishing the dress. I have the zipper sewn in, so the dress is wearable now. I also have the cape made, and just have to attached the buttons and elastic to hold it into the dress.

I’ve completed the bloomers, and will start the crown tonight. I really want to be DONE by the weekend.

As I was reading back in my blog and saw that I stated on Sunday, July 29, 2007, “Some dressmakers think attaching the skirt to the top is the worst, but I haven’t had much trouble there thankfully”

Ha! I’m eating my words now. This dress was very very difficult to attached, and that’s putting it lightly.

Okay, now that that’s out of my system….

The Lining

After 4 1/2 hours of satin stitching, I had the panels all finished. I got my Dad to cut the boning for me (had to use a special machine, as the wire cutters were worthless) and I cut all of the stiffener.

Before work this morning I got the lining cut out, and borrowed my aunt’s camera for pictures (will post later after she emails them)

Now after I relax a little, and dinner is all cleaned up, I’ll start getting this thing together!

I went to Joann’s today and picked up a very pretty brocade fabric in shades of aqua in a swirled pattern. I also bought two celtic buttons for the cape, and elastic for the bloomers. My thread is going to arrive any moment now, and then I’ll be embroidering like a mad-woman!

A little off topic, but I’ve come up with an idea for the Art contest at the IAANJ feis, so I think I’ll enter….

I have all of the appliques iron on, the pleats overlay fabric ironed on, and the back stiffener cut out. My thread is supposed to arrive tomorrow, then I can really get cracking.

I now have all of the appliques cut out. I ran out of thread though, and have to wait for it to come in the mail.
I had purchased the last three threads of Sulky “Pastel jade” at Joanns a few weeks ago, and they weren’t getting a shipment until Tuesday, and even then there was no guarantee they’d have the color I needed, so I ordered online. They still only had 5 spools of the color though! I’m hoping that’ll get me finished on the dress…
