I’ve been sewing since I was little. Most of what I learned was just through trial and error. I remember once sewing a pair of pants right on to a Ken doll. Wow, have I improved since then! I’m still learning, but feel like my skills are getting stronger with each project. I was always interested in fashion design from an early age. I was one of those little girls that changed their outfit 20 times a day. I was influenced by games like “Barbie Fashion Designer” paper dolls, Barbie dolls, etc. I even remember have a light box with fashion templates and stencils.
I always notice clothing. Fit, style, cut, design, color–it’s everywhere. I really love fashion sketches, but admit that mine aren’t as strong as my sewing skills, they’re not bad–just not amazing.
Most of my sewing projects are either Irish dancing, or Barbie doll related. My dream job is designing for Barbie Doll =)
